Description
Sue and Brian welcome you to the Woodpeckers family run bed and breakfast: a warm welcome is always extended to all of our guests. Our Bed and Breakfast is separate from the house giving you your own privacy for as long as your stay. Woodpeckers comprises of a double bedroom, a lounge area with comfortable leather seating, TV and DVD player. The bathroom is complete with a shower and bath. The lounge leads out to a small patio and garden area where you can barbecue on summer evenings and have your breakfast on summer mornings. Alternatively, breakfast will be served in the dining room. We offer a full breakfast menu featuring many home cooked and locally sourced items, including free range eggs from our own chickens, lamb & pork from either a local farm or our own fields and home made preserves. We are 10 minutes from the small market town of Romsey, situated on the banks of the river test. The New Forest is also 10 minutes from our door with pretty villages to visit including Lyndhurst, Bucklers, Burley and Beaulieu where you will find the motor museum and home of Lord Montague. You can also visit the Knightwood Oak by taking the scenic drive in this beautiful part of the world. You can catch a ferry from Lymington over to the Isle of Wight for the day. Salisbury is about 15 minutes from our door, where you will find the cathedral, which is Britains tallest spire, the worlds best preserved Magna Carta and Europe's oldest working clock. Dunwood golf course is within walking distance and Paultons golf course a short drive away. If you enjoy walking, there is a network of footpaths that can be accessed from just outside the property leading to local villages and public houses. |
